Having a brand is something that's important to any company, whether big or small. I wanted my branding to reflect my personality, who I was inside, and strived to be. The first design was meant to be an all encompassing, something bold that still conveyed me, and thus the marquis lighting effect was born. As I was working through it, I then realized how busy the icon looked, how things could be lost if it was shrunk or expanded.
And so the second design was born. All it was, was a simple change, removal of the background plaque that framed the marquis lighting. Adding in that I wanted to specialize in character design, I decided to fit the bottom text in the middle to fill out the empty space. In both designs, there's a feather, this was because when I asked everyone in my life what animal I represented, they all unanimously said a raven, so I figured why not lean into it?

The final rendition of my personal brand logo is much more simpler and a play on shapes. I simplified my company title, shifting my focus back to general design as I felt it was too early in my career to focus on a specific niche, and I settled on NERA Designs. The main part of my brand logo is actually the N and D that is connected. It reminds me of a maze that you have to navigate.
South Paw Mobile Pet Grooming

For one of my school projects, I was tasked with a complete redesign for a company brand. It wasn't just the logo, but also business collateral, merchandise, the whole works. The company was named South Paw Mobile Pet Grooming, and their goal with this redesign was to bring a sense of luxury, high-end, spa-like care to the pets that they groom. They'd grown out of their old logo, and needed something that conveyed that growth.
With all this in mind, I came up with an idea of a crest like series of logos, something akin to an ivy league college, but still showed that they were a grooming service. Using icons like shears and the animal icons, I layered this design to include their calling card; "We come when you call."
